Do you really have to sit the exam?
If you have already worked as a VTC driver, you may be exempt. Check before paying the fee and settling down to study.
You are exempt if your employment history record proves
- That you worked as a VTC driver between 12/01/2023 and 12/01/2024, without a break; or
- That you worked 2 years as a VTC driver within the period from 12/01/2020 to 12/01/2024 (here breaks are allowed).
You are also exempt with a taxi licence that included an equivalent test, or with a VTC licence from another autonomous community with an equivalent test.
The exemption frees you from the exam, NOT from the licence
You still have to apply for the licence to be issued, pay its fee of 20,37 € and attach your employment history record as proof. Without that application, as far as working goes, it is as if you were not exempt at all.
How to get your employment history record
You request it from the Seguridad Social with Cl@ve, a digital certificate or by SMS, and download it as a PDF. This is the document that proves your exemption: read it before sending it, because it has to show the exact periods.
